INCONTINENCE

Loss of bladder control is called urinary incontinence. It is most common in people 65 and older, but it is not a normal process of aging. Symptoms can range from mild to uncontrollable, and women are more often affected than men. While there are many "types" and reasons, some common factors leading to incontinence are infections, certain medications, weak bladder muscles, prostate blockage, damage to nerves that control the bladder (such as with multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's).

During urination, muscles in the bladder contract or tighten forcing urine out of the body through the urethra. The holistic approach to reversing incontinence is to address nerve stimulation of the bladder muscles. At Dr. Steenblock's Clinic we utilize nutritional therapies, I.V. therapies, acupuncture, biofeedback, physical therapy, ECP and PEMT. See more information on each of these therapies on this website.
