MACULAR DEGENERATION

I was recommended to take three treatments a day at Brain Therapeutics. I was referred for the treatments. I took HBO, ECP and Intravenous magnesium. On the day of my 34 th treatment I was able to thread a needle on the first try without the assistance of a needle threader. I was diagnosed with macular degeneration about three years ago. I would like to say that my experience with The Brain Therapeutics was very helpful to my overall health. I feel better and my eyesight has me reading one more line or more on the eye chart. I'll find out next time I read the chart if it's improved more. I enjoy all of Dr. Steenblock's staff and I hope to hae good health for many years to come.

At age 82 I experienced a stroke which led me to the door of Dr. David Steenblock for 20 hyperbaric oxygen treatments. The stroke actually occurred in December of 1996 after several months of depression. The results were exceptionally successful. However, I wish to briefly discuss an unexpected "fringe" or "cross over benefit" I received which deals with a macular degeneration condition of my left eye which I carried for 73 years (ever since age 9 when I was struck in the eye). A 12%-15% improvement proved welcome but puzzling after my 20 HBO treatments. However, I was grateful. I realized this event about a week after my treatments. The lumpy feeling behind my left eye disappeared. The pitch-black circular center of my left eye is now an opaque or powdery grey. There also appeared to be a slight fragmentation at the base of the center-most part of this eye. I often wondered if additional HBO treatments would improve this condition further. I returned for 18 more treatments for stroke. This time a more dramatic and significant change in my left eye snaps to my attention. I see an improvement of about 60-65%. The former circular black ball in the center of my left eye is now replaced with a soft semitransparent film of light beige. Superimposed in dead center of my eye is a narrow and slightly darker perpindicular stripe also in beige. When I peered closely into my bathroom mirrow while wearing my glasses I saw my eyeball for the first time in 73 years. I saw the entire eye staring at me in disbelief. Quite a thrilling experience!
