Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an inflammatory, autoimmune, demyelinating disease of the central nervous system that destroys the protective myelin sheath that surrounds and insulates nerves. About 300,000 Americans suffer from MS. The name relates to the multiple hardened (sclerotic) lesions and scars in the brain and spinal cord. Initial symptoms may include extreme fatigue, vertigo, optic neuritis, and numbness in the hands and feet. Most patients experience relapsing - remitting episodes that can lead to progressive neurological deterioration.

MS is complex and requires multiple avenues of treatment.

The first line of treatment to implement is the eradication of any infections, allergies and inflammatory conditions in the brain as well as the entire system, including the intestines since these are often both the primary cause and agent of tissue destruction.

The second line of treatment is neuroprotection against free radical damage. Free radicals are generated by infections, inflammations, stress, neurotoxins, heavy metals, etc. The elimination of heavy metals from the brain and spinal cord (iron, copper, mercury, lead, arsenic, cadmium, etc.) is of vital importance since these metals aggravate the immune system to attack the nerve tissues.
